Winter sunrise along the Chehalis River

Winter sunrise along the Chehalis River – Olympic Peninsula

The Chehalis river is the southern border of the Olympic Peninsula.  The main highway from civilization, Olympia, to the ocean beaches at the end.  The Chehalis is a tidal river for many miles and the ebb and flow of the river with it’s mix of fresh and salt water attracts a diversity of wildlife.

It is one of the more beautiful large river associated with the peninsula and easily accessible for photography.dsc_2592
Winter brings the muted colors associated with the season.

Along with the scenic beauty, winter is also one of the stronger steelhead fishing seasons brings anglers from around the region to its waters.

I live on the banks of this river.
